Thank you for your commitment to show support and communicate value to our justice involved youth through our One Heart Notes program.
How can you participate?
First and foremost, please familiarize yourself with our writing guidelines.
Write a simple introductory letter. Share information about yourself and why you are writing to them.
Please put your name and address on the envelope that contains your letter. Personally address the letter from your name, but do not include your address within the letter itself. Then, send your letter to:
One Heart Notes
P.O. Box 92790
Southlake, TX 76092
Your note will be forwarded to a youth correctional institution and be partnered with an incarcerated youth. You will be contacted by our team regarding a match, and a letter from a youth will be mailed to you directly from One Heart.
Alternatively, you can send a note via email to info@oneheart.com. We will print and mail it for you.
Important Guidelines To Follow
- Familiarize yourself with our writing guidelines.
- Make sure your letter is okay to be read by anyone.
- Please do not use any stationery that has personal information on it.
- Never send anything with your letter. No money, no stamps, nothing.
Suggestions for Writing to an Incarcerated Youth
Encourage them. Write encouraging words to inspire them.
Remind them. Let them know you’re thinking of them daily.
Ask them. Inquire if there are specific things they would like to know when writing back and forth.
Reinforce them. Remind them of their worth by writing about one of the 9 One Heart core values:
Commitment, Leadership, Perseverance, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Self-Control, Compassion
